Further Reminders
"...as fans may anticipate, Ibiza music this ain’t."
TLS very kindly let 11 hand-picked remixers (including our own Decal) got to town on their recent Tiny Reminders long-player. And as fans may anticipate, Ibiza music this ain’t. A quick trawl through the back streets of a dark village called Obscurelectronicsville it is. The claustraphobic dub of the Dry and Heavy remix of ‘Neuflex’, Decal’s lo-fi but nasty booty-bass take on the same and Lali Puna’s delicately melancholic rejigging of ‘It’s Not The Worst I’ve Looked’ shine brightly. Best of the bunch, though has to be C-PIJ heart-wrenchingly beautiful re-takes of ‘Tiny Reminder’. TLS obsessives (for they are legion) will lap it up, and the casual listener will appreciate the diversity.
