For Those Who Like To Get Down
One thing's for sure, Marques Wyatt sure likes to get down. Down with the deep and soulful house music
One thing’s for sure, Marques Wyatt sure likes to get down. Down with the deep and soulful house music. It seems this mix is dedicated to the regular’s at Wyatt’s regular Sunday shindig in LA who obviously like to get down too. So 14 tracks of deep house then – hold on to your hats, kids! In fairness, Wyatt sure does now how to pick up, as there are some absolute gems here – check Joey Negro’s excellent mix of Osunlade, the glorious vocals of Paul Johnson’s ‘Precious Lord’ and the stone-cold wicked Charles Webster remix of Dr Rockit’s ‘Cafe De Flore’ for proof. The mixing is as tight as you’d expect from a commercial release and, while the mix peaks a bit too early with the vocal numbers at the start, it will indeed make you feel like cutting a rug.
