Floor Staff continues comeback with 'Emphathize' single
Dubliner Anthony Donnelly keeps the momentum from 'Aspiration' going with a brand new single.
Irish alternative pop artist Floor Staff has dropped the second single, 'Empathize', from his upcoming album.
The Dublin indie singer – real name Anthony Donnelly – recently released 'Aspiration', his first song in 4 years. He is now gearing up for his debut record, Attention.
His introspective style is evident on the track, as he continues to showcase the talent that saw his first release, The Good Luck EP, showered with accolades in 2016.
'Empathize', Anthony says, is about feeling "guilt in relationships for allowing them to continue when, perhaps, our heart isn’t really in it anymore.
"For me, a realisation followed that I wasn’t the only one feeling that way. There’s often a thin line between being strong, trying harder to appreciate something and letting that person and relationship go because it’s truly the best thing for both parties in the long run. That’s what ‘Empathize’ examines.”
The new record will see Anthony reflect on "the turmoil of loss and regret but set against a broad horizon of possibility, plays on the freedom of uncertainty and the urgency of hope that accompanies a personal reckoning."
Floor Staff's debut album Attention will arrive on August 27. Listen to the song below.
