Ex-Slipknot Drummer Says Band Are "Cowardly" For Firing Him Via Email
Joey Jordison recently revealed health problems was the reason he left the band in 2013.
Former Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison has said he was fired from the heavy metal band as his band mates thought he was on drugs. He went on to say a "cowardly" email was how he found out he had been fired.
Jordison left the band in 2013 when both he and the band stated "personal reasons" as the cause for his departure. Since then Jordison has revealed the true reason was that he was diagnosed with the neurological disorder, transverse myelitis.
"They got confused about my health issues and obviously even I didn't know what it was at first," Jordison recently told Metal Hammer. "They thought I was fucked up on drugs, which I wasn't at all". He also said, "no band meeting? None. Anything from management? No, nothing. All I got was a stupid fucking email saying I was out of the band that I busted my ass my whole life to fucking create".
Jordison's health had deteriorated so much from the disease that he had to be carried to and placed behind the drum kit for his final Slipknot concerts. However he has not ruled out the possibility of returning to the group one day. "They’re my brothers. We’d hug and talk and do shit like we used to do. We used to sit up all night along planning this shit and what we wanted to do. So that’s how I’d wanna do it".
