Eurovision Song Contest Live Tour postponed indefinitely
The tour was announced last month, and was set to feature both past and present Eurovision contestants.
The Eurovision Song Contest Live Tour has been postponed, according to an announcement from the Director of the Eurovision Song Contest, Martin Green.
"We regret to announce that we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone the Eurovision Song Contest Live Tour 2026,” said Green in a statement. “We have encountered unforeseen challenges that despite the best efforts of our team, the producers, and promoters we have been unable to resolve. To the thousands of fans who bought tickets, thank you, we will ensure you will be refunded in full as soon as possible. We look forward to relaunching the Live Tour when we can ensure the world class experience that our fans expect.”
The Live Tour was announced last month, with the goal of capturing “the evolution of the contest” and celebrating the “past while looking to the future”. It was to be held across a number of European cities, and was set to feature previous Eurovision contestants, including Ireland’s Johnny Logan, and contestants from this year’s contest.
“Our focus remains on delivering an incredible Eurovision Song Contest in May,” said Green. “The 70th anniversary shows will be celebrated with 35 amazing artists performing to record sell-out audiences in Vienna and hundreds of millions watching around the world."
This year’s contest is surrounded by controversy due to its inclusion of Israel, despite the country’s genocidal campaign in Gaza. Ireland, Spain, the Netherlands, Iceland, and Slovenia have withdrawn from this year’s contest in protest. Several artists, including JJ, last year’s winner, and Johnny Logan, have also spoken out against Israel’s inclusion, with Logan comparing the inclusion of Israel to that of Russia, which has been banned from the contest since 2022 over its invasion of Ukraine.
The Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to take place in Vienna in May. The contest will not be broadcast on RTÉ.
