European charts Jedtastic
‘Lipstick’ is soaring to the top of the charts around Europe following Jedward’s Eurovision spectacle on Friday night.
The song topped the charts in Ireland, Germany, Sweden and Austria on iTunes yesterday, running miles ahead of UK entry Blue.
‘Lipstick’ was written by Daniel Priddy, Lars Halvor Jensen, Martin Michael Larsson and the entry came eighth over all.
Jedward are delighted with the result. "We are so happy that we got to the Eurovision. We wanted to bring fun and happiness to Dusseldorf and we wanted to cheer everyone up at home. Hopefully we succeeded.”
The largest audience in 15 years tuned in to support the twins, according to the latest figures by RTÉ. On average 1,174,300 viewers watched the competition from start to finish, and overall the programme reached 2,244,600 viewers.
