Eminem poised for Slane
hotpress.com has been informed by well-placed industry sources that this year's Slane festival will be headlined by Eminem.
The American hip hop star's pulling power was underlined in 2003 when he played two sold-out dates at Punchestown Racecourse. With his new album, Encore, released in early December, it is likely that fans can expect his live return in some capacity this year.
Meanwhile, Billboard Magazine was last week speculating that Eminem will join forces with 50 Cent and Linkin Park for a mammoth North American tour.
While no specific time frame is given, Billboard.com reports "very preliminary talks are underway for a monster stadium-level package".
In this context, it is very likely that the supertour would extend to European dates, as with the Anger Management World Tour of 2003, which featured Public Enemy, D12 and Obie Trice amongst others.
Stay tuned to hotpress.com for more details on the Slane Festival line-up as we get them.
