Elton John Launches Contest For Would-Be Filmmakers
Elton John has teamed up with YouTube to give you the opportunity to create a brand new pop video for one of his seminal classic tracks.
Sir Elton is looking for someone to create the perfect video for one of his three pre-MTV songs: ‘Bennie and the Jets’, ‘Rocket Man’ and ‘Tiny Dancer’, as part of the celebrations for his 50th anniversary of writing songs with his co-writing partner, Bernie Taupin.
"We're excited to partner with YouTube to bring together generations of artists and music lovers around a shared passion for storytelling. YouTube is a rich tapestry of creativity, and I can't wait to see how the breadth of talent from the dance, live-action and animation communities apply their vision to these cherished songs,” said Elton John in a statement.
Elton John and Bernie Taupin will pick the winning entry, who will scoop $10,000. “We're excited to see creative ideas that push boundaries, tell compelling stories and give viewers something they have never seen before," added Elton John.
