Electric Picnic 2026: Everything You Need To Know

With just hours to go until the campsites open, Electric Picnic have shared a handy list of everything to know ahead of the big weekend.

80,000 people are set to attend the festival in Stradbally Hall, Co. Laois this weekend (August 28–30). Keep an eye out for Hot Press Chat Room in the MindField area if you're heading down...

Before you travel:

• Only buy tickets via Ticketmaster or Ticketmaster official resale
• No screenshots – download your ticket before you arrive
• Down the Official Electric Picnic App and turn on notifications
• Add your emergency contact information to your phone before you travel
• Electric Picnic is fully cashless – card / contactless payments only
• Irish weather can be unpredictable. Prepare for all types of weather

Age policy & ID:

• Electric Picnic is strictly over 18s – bring valid photo ID
• Children aged 12 and under may attend with a parent or guardian
• Children aged 12 and under enter free and do not require a ticket or wristband
• Up to 2 children per adult is permitted
• Anyone aged 13 to 17 is not permitted to attend

What you can't bring:

• No glass containers over 100ml
• No disposable BBQs
• No incense or candles
• No flares, fireworks, gas canisters, drones, weapons or other hazardhous items
• No gazebos over 3m x 6m, large sound systems, megaphones or air horns
• No large bags, camping equipment or umbrellas in the Main Arena
• No disposable vapes or excessive alcohol

Getting there

• Travel by event bus services where possible. Hot Press readers can use the code HOTPRESS10OFF to get a 10% discount if travelling by Marathon Coaches.
• Use official event routing
• Big Yellow Trucks are available for trolley hire in the Red and Yellow car pakrs
• Pin your car location or take note of the zone where you are parked
• Do not park in fire lanes – your vehicle will be towed

Recycling drink containers

• Re-turn has been announced as the Official Sustainability Partner of Electric Picnic 2026 –reinforcing the festival's commitment to sustainability by making it easier for festival-goers to return drinks containers, increasing recycling infrastructure across the site and helping ensure valuable materials are kept within the circular economy.
• By choosing to put your can or bottle in one of Re-turn's Orange Bins, you are making a donation to Return for Children – an initiative which supports six national children's charities: Barnardos Ireland, Barretstown, Childline by ISPCC, Jack and Chill Children's Foundation, LauraLynn Children's Hopstice and Make-A-Wish Ireland. Also supported through the Orange Bin initiative are Meath Camogie, Killeshin GAA, Children's Books Ireland, Camross GAA and Down Syndrome Centre
