Ed Sheeran tops the Charts on opening week of 2018
New Year, same story.
Ed Sheeran's Divide is once again on the top spot of the Irish Album Charts, on the first Friday of 2018. Despite the album having been released back in March, the Irish appetite for Sheeran appears to be insatiable. The singer also took the prize for Christmas No. 1 two weeks ago in December
Elsewhere on the Charts, Christy Moore continues to stay high with his compilation album On The Road, which comes in at No.2, while Pink, Picture This and Eminem all make the Top 5.
We're currently in that idle post-Christmas period, so no new faces appear anywhere in the Top 30, but we're excited about a few Irish releases which are scheduled to be released in the coming weeks, including the debut album from The Academic.
Here's hoping there'll be something more exciting to write about come next Friday. Until then, here's the song you're sick of hearing.
