Ed Sheeran back at No. 1
He's overtaking Noel Gallagher in the race at the top of the Irish Albums Chart.
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds were, well, flying high last week as their second album Chasing Yesterday debuted with a golden bullet atop the Irish Album Chart. It's back to business as usual this week, as X by Ed Sheeran (who Noely G has now decided is a "dude") is this week's biggest selling album.
Noel will have to settle for second place.
Sam Smith's debut remains in third, Hozier's eponymous debut remains in fourth, while Madonna has a strong first week showing – her new album Rebel Heart rounds off the Top 5.
Taylor Swift, Kodaline and George Ezra are the familiar faces just below (in that order), but The Gloaming get a big boost from their Choice Music Prize win last week. The Gloaming leaps from No. 36 to No. 9, one spot ahead of Sia's 1000 Forms Of Fear.
