Duran Duran collabs with Japanese band CHAI on new track 'MORE JOY'
The new-wave superstars behind 'Rio' are back with an updated sound.
Duran Duran have released 'MORE JOY', a new track featuring CHAI, from their upcoming album Future Past.
It's a follow-up to 'Invisible', their most recent single, with the group recruiting the aid of the all-female Japanese band for their latest effort.
"The song was born out of a crazy jam with Duran Duran, Graham Coxon and Erol Alkan," said keyboardist Nick Rhodes.
"It was such an unusual piece, we weren’t quite sure if it would fit in at first. It reminded me of one of those retro Japanese video games, which I always found quite uplifting."
Lead vocalist Simon Le Bon continued, saying that "Nick suggested some girlish voices on 'MORE JOY'.
I knew exactly where to find them — CHAI, a post-modern, all-girl Japanese punk band, whose energy and pure sense of fun might actually blow your ears off! We are honoured to have them sprinkle their pink neon magic spikey dust onto our song."
Future Past will be Duran Duran's first record of new material in over six years and their fifteenth album overall. Their last release, Paper Gods, reached the top ten in the UK and American charts.
