Dublin Simon Community announces Sing For Simon Fundraiser with Mary Black and Angeline Ball
The Christmas Concert will feature musical artists joining the RTÉ Orchestra
The Dublin Simon Community, a charity benefitting the homeless in Dublin, Kildare, Wicklow, Meath, Louth, Cavan & Monaghan, has announced the return of their annual fundraising event on December 13 at The Helix, Dublin.
Sing for Simon 2024 will feature Irish musicians Mary Black, Mary Couglan and Angeline Ball, and also feature the acclaimed RTÉ Concert Orchestra and a school choir.
The Community Director of Fundraising and Communications for Simon, Emma Kilkenny said, "Winter is undoubtedly the most challenging time for those vulnerable in our society, and we are counting on the public's generosity this festive season to support those who need it most"
Longtime volunteer Gay Mooney underscores the importance of community fundraising, "This concert is not just about raising funds; it's about raising hope and bringing people together during a time when compassion is needed most."
Schools across Ireland are encouraged to enter in a competition to get a chance to sing live on stage for the charity event. To enter, schools should submit a video of their choir performing a Christmas song of their choice by November 22. Entries can be sent to [email protected].
Tickets for the event are €15 for adults and €8 for children, with all of the proceeds going to the Dublin Simon Community.
