Dublin band win Global Battle Of The Bands!

Kopek are the best band in the world, according to the Global Battle Of The Bands contest, which held its grand final at the London Astoria last night.

The rock trio impressed the judges at the competition - Steve Lillywhite, producer of U2 and Rolling Stones; Glen Matlock, former bassist of the Sex Pistols; Rhodri Marsden, music journalist for The Independent; singer/songwriter Kate Havnevik and Mick Feldman, former head of A&R at Sony Europe - and fended off competition from all corners of the earth from Jordan to Mexico to claim the title.
The win means that they bag themselves a world tour and €100,000.
