More 'Drum Hangs' On The Way From Graham Hopkins

Who wouldn't want to hang out with a drummer, or, even better, two drummers? Who amongst us would not take joy in endless sweet talk of paradiddles and polyrhythms? If such a notion has already sent you in to a pleasant reverie, then we have good news!

Graham Hopkins (Glen Hansard/Therapy?) and Adam Marcello (Katy Perry/American Idol) have announced a joint ‘Drum Hang’ tour in association with the Zildjian cymbal company.

This tour will be 6 dates at 6 of Ireland’s leading independent coffee shops.

These six dates, which run between November 1st and 28th, will be an intimate hang out, where Graham and Adam play and talk drums, and music, fuelled by quality coffee.

Speaking about the drum hangs Graham Hopkins told a rapt Hot Press that “Adam and I are looking forward to these dates together, where we will talk about our approach to the drums, our experiences playing live and in the studio, the gear we use, and of course the quality coffee we like to drink!"

"We prefer to call these ‘drum hangs’ rather than clinics or masterclasses, because we want them to be as laid back and informal as possible.  We encourage everyone to get involved and enjoy drummer camaraderie, and to exchange their experiences with one another.”

Hopkins would not be drawn on the rumours that he finishes all these get-togethers by wrecking the gaff, Keith Moon style
