Death Grips working on new album after seven-year gap
No official title or release date has been announced.
Experimental duo Death Grips have confirmed that they are writing and recording their next album, marking their first full-length release since 2018’s Year of the Snitch.
In a post on Instagram, Stefan “MC Ride” Burnett and Zach Hill shared studio photos and the caption: “The writing and recording of our next album is underway. We’re looking forward to the new Death Grips record.”

The update follows their previous post in April, which addressed rumours of a breakup after a leaked message suggested the project had ended. The band clarified at the time: “Despite rumour and hearsay, we remain active as Death Grips.”
Since Year of the Snitch, the group have remained mostly inactive in the studio, though they toured Europe, UK, and North America in 2023, their first full tour since 2019.
The run included two shows at The Academy, Dublin, on June 18 and 19.
During the hiatus, drummer and founding member Zach Hill launched his project Undo K From Hot and collaborated with Australian experimental artist Lucas Abela on the 2025 album Bag of Max Bag of Cass.
No title or release date has yet been revealed for the new Death Grips album.
