Damien Rice releases new song
It's the first song Rice has released since his 2014 album Favourite Faded Fantasy
Damien Rice has released his first song in four years.
‘100 Miles Across The Room’ was released as a YouTube video today on his channel. An acoustic version of the song was also released.
Despite only being made public today, the song was written 10 years ago when Damien Rice embarked on a ’10 Days To Barcelona’ project.
For the project Rice travelled from Dublin to Barcelona over 10 days alongside a couple of friends. He challenged himself to write a new song every day meaning he’d have a new album completed by the end of the project. Driving in a Mini Cooper, they turned the car into a portable recording studio.
The release of the song also coincides with Damien Rice’s release of his debut album O on vinyl today for the first time. He is also set to embark on a European tour this summer, with the string of dates in Spain and Italy part of his Wood Water Wind tour for which he’ll travel to each city via sailboat.
