Irish singer-songwriter Damien Dempsey - widely regarded as one of the greatest Irish voices of the modern era – will be performing a live online concert to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
Joined by Éamonn de Barra and Alan Doherty (of Gráda), Dempsey will be playing the concertina, piano as well as singing some of his best loved hits from his home. The "Irish Lion" blew livestream audiences away on Saturday night during his Slane Sessions show, playing alongside Dublin noise band Thumper at Slane Distillery.
Over the course of his remarkable career to date, Damien has established himself as one of the country's most beloved artists. Drawing influence from the likes of Bob Marley, Christy Moore, Luke Kelly and Shane MacGowan, the award-winning, chart-topping singer-songwriter has crafted a unique, soulful sound, centred on his marvellously powerful voice.
His most recent album, 2018's Union, saw Dempsey showcasing new songs and re-imagined classics, through collaborations with Finbar Furey, John Grant, Kae Tempest, Maverick Sabre, Lisa O'Neill and more.
"We'll be trying to lift all of your hearts, and our own hearts," the musician said in a social media post.
"It's all about the passion for the song, it's not about being pitch perfect all the time. Join me for a worldwide sing-song at 8pm on Wednesday, March 17th for St. Patrick's Day!"
Concertgoers can pay €19 via Stabal to attend or they can receive a '30 Day Pass’ for €25 – which allows them to watch Dempsey's performance back as often as they like over the next month. Get your tickets here.
