Conor Oberst pays solo visit to Dublin
Ahead of his Bord Gais Energy Theatre show comes the October release of Rumination
The Bord Gais Energy Theatre is the venue on February 5, 2017 as Bright Eyes mainman Conor Oberst pays an intimate solo visit to Dublin, which has been a happy hunting ground for him in the past. Tickets are €28.50.
Ahead of that comes the October 14 release through Nonesuch of Rumination, a similarly stripped-down record assembled in his hometown of Omaha, which Oberst has returned to after living in New York.
"I wasn't expecting to write a record. I honestly wasn't expecting to do much of anything,” reflects. “Winter in Omaha can have a paralysing effect on a person but in this case it worked in my favour. I was just staying up late every night playing piano and watching the snow pile up outside the window. Next thing I knew I had burned through all the firewood in the garage and had more than enough songs for a record. I recorded them quick to get them down but then it just felt right to leave them alone.”
