Cloves Hits Hard at Electric Picnic
Cloves peels off the layers to show off her versatility
Heralding all the way from Australia, singer-songwriter, Cloves, descends on the final day at Electric Picnic.
Performing an intimate set at the Little Big Stage, Cloves shows off her vocal chops as she works her way through an impressive collection of tracks. There's something for everyone as Cloves music ranges from uptempo dance to angsty rock.
Cloves regularly checks in with her audience, laughing off the rain and commanding her fans to dance on through. Dressed in red pants and a black sports bra, the 22 year old singer looks effortlessly chic. Her dance moves feels utterly spontaneous, giving her a vintage Blondie and Gwen Stefani aesthetic. It's a tad awkward, but Cloves shows that she doesn't care what anyone thinks as she throws herself into the music.
Despite the small stage, she manages to put on quite a show! Completing her set with a full band, strobing lights and a massive LED screen with graphics, Cloves proves a true showmanship that many artists take years to achieve.
The true highlight of the set comes in the form of 'Hit Me Hard', a suitable song for the miserable day outside the tent. The lyrics are gut-wrenching and reflect the experiences held by many in attendance.
Her performance of 'Up and Down' offers a refreshing take on mental health, exploring the anxieties one feels when trapped inside their head.
Cloves may not be well-known yet, but she demonstrated today that is on her way to becoming one of music's most established artists.
