CARPARK SCI-FI announces new EP The Hundred Halves
Listen to his single 'Wake Me Up' below.
CARPARK SCI-FI has announced a new EP The Hundred Halves. It's set to drop Wednesday, April 1, via Blue Arrow Records.
CARPARK SCI-FI (real name Gav Cowley) is an audio and visual artist prominent in the underground Dublin music scene. He joined the Cleveland-based Blue Arrow Records in 2023 with his debut EP This Is.
Lead single 'Wake Me Up' is out now. The music video features Cowley's own illustrations.
"On a micro level, this song 'Wake Me Up' is me trying to work some personal things out," Cowley says of the track. "I kinda free-styled a lot of these lyrics in order to not over think. It’s also maybe a call to... start creating again, start moving again, start noticing again, start being hopeful again. To wake up to love."
"On a macro level, with all the bad stuff going on in the world, it’s easy to lose hope. But we all grew up imagining a world where everybody would be looked after. There are heaps of sound people out there. Kindness, sharing, looking out for each other, believing everyone has worth and the right to be here."
The Hundred Halves will be available on a limited edition 10" vinyl. Pre-order the EP here.
CARPARK SCI-FI will be launching The Hundred Halves at Dublin's Curveball on Saturday, April 4. Tickets are available now.
He'll play Bennigan's in Derry on Saturday, April 11, and John Lee's Bar and Venue in Tullamore on Saturday, April 25.
