Calling all promoters; Steve Van Zandt wants to play Dublin!
Bruce's right-hand man is getting his Disciples of Soul back together
Bruce’s trusted lieutenant Steve Van Zandt is reconvening his own band, the Disciples of Soul, for a hastily arranged Indigo at the 02, London show on October 29. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday October 14. It’s an 11pm kick-off with up to 15 musicians jamming it out on stage.
He’d also love for a promoter here to magic up a gig.
“London is covered this trip by the Indigo; still hoping for Manchester or Dublin. Longshot I know,” he’s tweeted. “Short notice now but miracles occur. We have an extra day or two. Bug your local promoter!”
If all goes swimmingly, there could be a full Disciples of Soul tour in 2017.
“It’s a big band, baby,” he adds. “Expensive to carry around. It will have to be somewhere around 2,500/3,000 at least. Combined with festivals.”
The Disciples Of Soul were active during the ‘80s, with their Men Without Women and Voice Of America albums well worth adding to your collections.
