Bring Me The Horizon give fans update on new single 'Parasite Eve'
The rock band's new single 'Parasite Eve' arrives next month.
Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes has confirmed that the five-piece brand's upcoming single will be released on June 10, 2020.
After cryptically teasing fans with new music last week, BMTH confirmed the song 'Parasite Eve' will be the first single from the rock band's follow-up to 2019's Amo.
Skypes explained in a new video titled '00BMTHS2-prologue-.mp4' that 'Parasite Eve' has a message within it that is emblematic of the band's next chapter.
“You’ll have heard us working on a bunch of songs, but one song we were working on in particular really started to take on a new life,” he said.
“Although the inspiration for the song didn’t come from the current pandemic, as we were writing it the similarities started to get weird, I guess. It felt important for us to carry on with this song in particular because the message really hits differently, because it feels like something we need right now.”
During the lockdown, BMTH have been working hard on their project which is set to follow directly on from the group's Music To Listen To… December EP.
In the Brian Cox-directed ’00BMTHS2-prologue’ video, Sykes explains that the timing was right for the band to work on new music.
“After it became apparent that the lockdown wasn’t going away anytime soon, we realised we needed to start making music any way possible,” he says in clip.
The video is littered with clips from the band’s previous live shows and footage filmed from the coronavirus lockdown, features Sykes teasing new material.
Two more videos have appeared since ’00BMTHS2-prologue’: '01BMTHS2-oh ni ni ni-.mp4' and '02BMTHS2-new normal-.mp4'.
“So we’re gonna be sharing our progress with you, you’re gonna see how we write and record remotely, and everything in-between — so watch this space.”
