Bob Dylan performs Van Morrison's 'Going Down To Bangor' live in Belfast
Dylan's run of Irish dates continues over the coming days, with shows in Killarney and Dublin.
As part of the latest leg of his Rough and Rowdy Ways Tour, Bob Dylan played his second of two shows at Belfast's Waterfront Hall last night – during which he surprised fans with a rendition of local legend Van Morrison's 'Going Down To Bangor'.
The track originally appeared on Morrison's 2016 album Keep Me Singing. This is reportedly the first time that Dylan has played the track live, though both artists have covered each other's songs on various occasions over the years – including as recently as 2023, when Dylan performed 'Into The Mystic' live in Alicante, Spain.
"Incredible," one commenter wrote online in response to the cover of 'Going Down To Bangor'. "No one could predict the joy of Bob saying 'Donaghadee'..."
Dylan's run of Irish dates continues this weekend, with shows in Killarney's Gleneagle Arena (November 23 & 24) and Dublin's 3Arena (November 25). You can see the full list of tour dates here.
