Blue Slate release new single 'Plastic Soul'
They have announced an Irish tour with three Dublin dates and one show in Galway in September.
Kildare-based group Blue Slate have released their new single 'Plastic Soul' on September 10.
This is their second single this year, after July's 'Melody in Melancholy'. Their first EP This Is How I Sleep At Night came out in January.
'Plastic Soul' is an shoegaze-influenced track, with angsty guitar and raspy vocals. The end result is a song that is intense, expressive and gritty.
"The song is about trying to find your way in life," the band explained. "But when you start to reflect you realise that there is baggage that you have. The song is about the realisation of that”
Blue Slate's live shows have earned them a spot on the Hot Press Hot for 2024 list. They have also gained radio coverage around Ireland, landing multiple slots in the Irish Radio Breakers Chart.
The band's upcoming live dates include Dublin shows at: Academy 2, supporting A Burial At Sea; on September 11, The Grand Social, supporting Underground Youth on September 18; and the Hot Shit showcase at the Grand Social on September 22.
They also have a headline gig at the Róisín Dubh in Galway on September 12, as well as a London show at The Elephant's Head on November 12. The group plans to announce further tour dates for November.
