Billy Joel to play massive Aviva Stadium show
The legendary New Yorker is over next June.
The big gig announcements keep on coming with Billy Joel giving us plenty of advance warning that he’s playing the Aviva Stadium on June 23, 2018. Tickets for what will be his only Irish performance of the year go on sale on Monday October 9.
Last here for a sell-out show four years ago, Joel has joined the New York Knicks, Rangers and Liberty as one of the ‘franchises’ at Madison Square Garden, with a record 88 performances at the renowned Manhattan venue.
Expect to hear all of his massive hits including ‘Piano Man’, ‘Say Goodbye To Hollywood’, ‘She’s Always A Woman’, ‘Goodnight Saigon’, ‘Uptown Girl’, and the song he’s proudest of – “I guess, it became a standard. Sort of like Hoagy Carmichael's ‘Stardust’ or ‘Georgia On My Mind’, he remarked recently – ‘New York State Of Mind’.
