Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival next February
Brett James, Nanci Griffith and Kristian Bush will all perform at the event...
The 9th Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival takes place from February 20 – 24.
As the name suggests, the beano is about quality tunesmithery from both sides of the Atlantic.
The diverse range of acts confirmed so far includes Grammy Award-winning Americans Brett James, Nanci Griffith and Kristian Bush of Sugarland fame; local heroes Brian Kennedy, Gareth Dunlop, Katharine Phillipa, Ursula Burns and Wes Grierson; Ireland’s John Spillane and Mick Flannery; from the UK Tom Baxter, Karima Francis, Rae Morris, Rosie Carney, Boo Hewardine, Then Jericho’s Mark Shaw and Henry Priestman of The Christians’ fame; and also flying the American flag Jason Blume, Chris Young and Bob Dipiero.
“When we started the songwriters’ festival back in 2005 we could only dream of having such a line up of world-class artists,” festival director Colin Magee reflects. “It’s our chance to focus on the people who create the songs we love and to put them centre stage. We’re shining a spotlight on their talent and our 9th event is going to be another great year for Belnash concerts and workshops.”
