Designers refuse to work with Bebe Rexha and her "size 8 ass"
"You're saying that all the women in the world that are size 8 and up are not beautiful and they cannot wear your dresses. To all the people that said that I’m thick and I can't wear dresses, fuck you, I don’t want to wear your fucking dresses."
With the hype of the 61st Grammy Awards building up, artists are looking to the best in the biz to custom make their looks for the evening. Bebe Rexha has revealed the difficulties she faces in trying to find a designers to work with her. According to the 'Say My Name' singer, blunt designers refuse to work with her because she's "too big".
Bebe Rehxa shared her struggles in an Instagram video saying, "I'm sorry, I had to get this off my chest. If you don’t like my fashion style or my music that’s one thing. But don’t say you can’t dress someone that isn’t a runway size."
Bebe Rexha called out the designers for saying the singer was "too big, literally, too big" to wear their designs. The Grammy-nominated artist is a US size 6-8, which is a 10-12 in European sizing.
"Then I don’t want to wear your fucking dresses, 'cause that's crazy. You're saying that all the women in the world that are size 8 and up are not beautiful and they cannot wear your dresses. To all the people that said that I’m thick and I can't wear [your] dresses, fuck you, I don’t want to wear your fucking dresses."
Turning the rant into a positive message, Bebe Rexha hoped her experience would encourage women to be proud of their bodies, regardless of their dress size. "Empower women to love their bodies instead of making girls and women feel less then by their size," she writes in the caption. "We are beautiful any size! small or large!", adding the hashtag #LOVEYOURBODY.
Bebe Rexha boasted her first Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist, saying "Anddddd My size 8 ass is still going to the Grammys".
