Baxter Dury announces upcoming album Allbarone, alongside Irish tour dates
"It’s just something that’s brand new for me," Dury said of the album. "It’s quite exciting, really.”
Baxter Dury has announced his ninth studio album Allbarone, out September 12, alongside a tour across Ireland, the UK and Europe.
Dury released lead single 'Allbarone' today, paired with an accompanying music video directed by Tom Beard. He will appear at Belfast’s Mandela Hall on November 11 and Dublin’s Vicar Street on November 12. General ticket sales begin on May 9 at 10 a.m., with pre-sale for his Irish shows kicking off tomorrow.
Released through Heavenly Recordings, the album was produced by Paul Epworth, known for his work with artists like Adele and Florence & The Machine. This marks the first record Epworth has worked on in over five years.
Dury and Epworth met after Dury’s performance at Glastonbury festival in 2024. They agreed to begin developing Allbarone in Epworth’s North London Church Studios last November.
“This is the first track that Paul Epworth and I made and it quickly established why it was a good idea that we were working together,” Dury said of ‘Allbarone.’ “It's a song about sitting in the rain outside an All Bar One contemplating why what just happened, happened in the way it did. It’s kind of a character arc that goes through the whole thing, two personalities.”
“It’s very critical of people, this album, whoever they are, maybe some bloke with a moustache and sockless loafers in Shoreditch or a fat old Chiswick gangster lording it up in a really comfortable middle class part of London,” he added. “I don’t want to say it’s contemporary. Because I sound like a cunt using that word. But it does sound really contemporary. It doesn’t sound like a Harrods hamper band made it. It doesn’t sound like a band made it all. Which is what I wanted most of all. It’s just something that’s brand new for me. It’s quite exciting, really.”
The album will be available on CD, standard black vinyl and exclusive venetian marble blue.
Pre-order is available here, and tickets for his show will be available here.
