"Battle for the Bay" returns to Dollymount Strand this weekend
This eighth edition of the event will bring kite surfers from across the world to Clontarf.
Dollymount Strand is considered one of the world's best beaches for kitesurfing and will see it's reputation put to the test this weekend, May 24 ad 25, as it once again hosts the "Battle for the Bay".
The weekend will feature two competitions in two different styles of water sorts. The Kite Boarder Crossing World Tour will be holding their championship over the two days, while the World Series from Watermen League will be hosting their Dublin Bay SUP Classic. SUP stands for Stand Up Paddle-boarding, one of the world's fastest growing water sports.
This event is completely free for observers, and will feature live music, food and events for kids.
Included amongst the live performers include Craic, who will be performing after the water activities at the Generator in Smithfield.
