Band competition announced for the Village
The winners will get the chance to record with Morrissey's guitarist and musical director
On Thursday 8th April, six bands will compete at the Village in Dublin as part of the King Kong Club Grand Final music competition.
Filthy Geeks, the Hot Sprockets, Infidels, and the Lynchburg Mob will perform at this battle of the bands, with two more groups being announced on 2nd April.
The winner will receive an all-expenses paid nine-day trip to Serra Vista, Portugal, where they will record and mix at Boz Boorer's studio, with full use of his collection of vintage musical instruments.
Having played with and produced for Morrissey, Boz has also produced Madness, Edwyn Collins, Kirsty McColl, and Adam Ant.
The second place band will earn a main stage slot at the KnockanStockan music Festival in Blessinton. Third place is a full days recording in Asylum Studios With Jimmy Eadie and Liam Mulvaney and fourth place is a slot at the Dame Quarter music festival.
Tickets to the April 8th show are €5 and doors open at 8:30pm.
