Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger announce separation

Having denied rumours of divorce late last year, Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger have now confirmed that their marriage is over.
The 'Sk8er Boi' singer and Nickelback frontman began dating in July 2012 after Kroeger had worked on the production of Lavigne's fifth album. They became engaged after a month and married in July 2013.
Lavigne posted a message on Instagram, along with a photo of their wedding day, stating:
"It is with a heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today. Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we've created many unforgettable moments. We are still and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other. To all our family, friends and fans, thank you sincerely for the support."
