Scottish pairing Arab Strap have announced their new album I'm totally fine with it š don't give a fuck anymore š, out May 10, 2024 via Rock Action Records. Accompanying the news is the LPās disco-infused lead single āBlissā.
āItās about women being terrorised online; itās about cowardice and bigotry,ā said the bandās Aidan Moffat on the song. Ā āItās about how we expose ourselves on social platforms while hiding alone at home. But you can dance to it too!ā Alongside the track is aĀ video directed by award-winning, Glasgow based director Ains.
Ā
I'm totally fine with it š don't give a fuck anymore š is set to examine the āurgent, timely themes, such as conspiracy theories, online addiction, and the forgotten souls of our seemingly connected planet,ā with what Moffat describes as āa quiet angerā and love for āthe tangible world and intangible world.ā
The band have also announced a series of live shows across the U.K with tickets going on general sale at 10am on Friday, January 26.
Arab Strap marked the end of a sixteen-year hiatus in 2021, releasing their seventh studio albumĀ As Days Get Dark. They've also recentlyĀ wrapped up a tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of their 1998 album Philophobia.
āThe tourās been fun, but Iāll be glad itās over so we can move on,ā said Malcom Middleton.Ā āThe Philophobia gigs have been a way of saying goodbye to the old us,ā added Moffat. āIt was a very gentle, quiet tour, so I expect this year we'll just be playing banger after banger ā I think we've earned the right to make some noise now.ā
