Amber Heard charged with dog smuggling
Johnny Depp’s wife failed to declare her pets in Australia
A rough week for Magic Mike XXL star Amber Heard as she was charged with illegally smuggling her two dogs into Australia in April.
Heard, who married Johnny Depp in February, failed to declare the couple’s Yorskshire terriers Pistol and Boo upon arrival in Brisbane. She has been charged this week with two counts of illegal importation as well as producing a false document.
The actress has been issued with a summons to appear in court in Queensland on September 7, with penalties ranging from a large fine to over 10 years in prison. Despite threats from the Australian Minister of Agriculture Barnaby Joyce that the dogs could be put down, they have left the country unharmed.
The (human) couple were Down Under while Depp filmed the fifth installment in the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise.
