Album Review: 'Midnight Broadcast' from Warsaw Radio
Fully loaded with bulletproof heartbreakers.
Formed in Brighton five years ago and featuring Limerick-born singer/songwriter Brian McNamara, Warsaw Radio initially made waves with their wonderful ballad ‘After Eve’. Their debut album, Midnight Broadcast, is sure to make an even bigger splash, as it’s fully loaded with bulletproof heart-breakers.
Taking the likes of the Goo Goo Dolls, The Waterboys and Wilco as touchstones, the ten-track effort is a string-driven, sometimes tear-stained opus, heaving with songs that have stadium-filling potential. McNamara’s impassioned baritone on the likes of ‘Whispers’ and the monstrous ‘Midnight Broadcast’ could put goosebumps on your goosebumps, while the New Orleans-flavoured ‘Ms. Monroe’ shows off their impressive musical chops.
Fans of widescreen, hook-filled stories of romance should feel dutybound to check this out.
