A.S. Fanning releases single ‘On Your Side’ and announces new EP
Tickets for his Irish tour dates are on sale now.
Dublin-born folk-rock artist A.S. Fanning has released a new single ‘On Your Side’, with the announcement of a B-sides EP, Unbearable Miracle, out September 19.
The news comes shortly after the announcement of his first Irish headline tour in nine years, with stops in Mayo on September 24, Galway on September 25, Dublin on September 26 and Cork on September 28.
“‘On Your Side’ has always been a bit of its own standalone thing,” Fanning said of his new song. “It didn’t quite fit the last album, and it’s never been played live, so it occupies its own strange space.”
“It centres around a feeling of anxiety, and how our brains have the ability to make us think that enemies are everywhere and conflict is everywhere. It’s sort of about the idea of a divided self.”
Alongside unheard material, Unbearable Miracle will feature six alternative and remix versions of songs on Take Me Back To Nowhere, his last album, which was released on February 6.
Fanning, who is now based in Berlin, began his solo career in 2013, when his previous band The Last Tycoons came to an end. He shared his debut album, Second Life, in 2017, followed by You Should Go Mad, which fused electronica, folk and rock.
Tickets for his Irish tour dates are on sale here.
