Cathedral City sets a new blues standard with over 50 musical acts confirmed this year
Armagh goes live with its biggest annual musical bash next month with a stellar line-up of over 50 musical acts for this year’s 7 Hills Blues Fest.
“From heavyweight blues legends and stars to new, up-and-coming and cutting-edge performers, I’m excited by the scale and the ambition set for this year’s event and by the range of activities that showcase Armagh’s award-winning credentials in hospitality, retail and tourism,” said the Lord Mayor.
This year’s bigger programme features several new musical additions, including Ken Haddock, David King, The Willin’ Fools, the James Grit and Kelle Redmond bands, Copperhead, and The Dirt. Over 40 other bands, vocalists, and performers will join them.
Friday at the festival will feature a Street Food Market at the Shambles Yard, starting at midday. As well, Kyle Riley will be holding a special event geared towards toddlers at the Armagh Planetarium.
On Saturday, The Casino Dixieland Jazz Band and One Horse Pony will play at the Picnic in the Park at Palace Park.
To close out the weekend, there will be a BBQ n’ Blues family event at Shambles Yard where Martin Rafferty’s Music School from Armagh will host a series of afternoon workshops. There will also be a ‘Blues Special’ walking tour in downtown Armagh.
The 7 Hills Blues Fest will be held this weekend from 8-11 August in Armagh.
