Sexual assault charges against Conor McGregor have been dropped
McGregor was alleged to have committed sexual assault in the bathroom of a basketball arena, he and his team denied this four months ago.
Charges have been dropped concerning a sexual assault case involving former UFC champion Conor McGregor.
He has denied the claims from a woman that he assaulted her in a toilet at a basketball game at the Kaseya Centre in Miami, Florida back in June.
His lawyer Barbara Llanes said in a statement: "After a thorough investigation, including a review of videos and interviews with eyewitnesses, the authorities have concluded that there is no case to pursue against my client, Conor McGregor."
"As anticipated, this decision by the authorities confirms Mr McGregor's account of the evening."
"On behalf of my client, his family and his fans we are pleased this is now over."
The state attorney's office has confirmed that the charges have been dropped.
McGregor had been accused of forcing a woman into the bathroom while security did nothing to help her.
The sports star has not fought since suffering a leg injury back in 2021. It seems that he has taken a step towards returning to the sport by re-entering the US Anti-Doping Agency's testing programme.
