The term ‘gastropub’ has been widely abused in the capital, but following major refurbishment this Liffeyside institution gets the mix of quality craft drinks and eats just right. Either enjoy Pickled Eggs, Homemade Crisps or Pork Scratchings with Smoked Oyster Mayo sat at the bar with a crafty Irish pint or short – we’re rather partial to the Blackwater Strawberry Gin – or retire to the more formal dining area where such imaginative treats as Monkfish Liver Paté with Blood Orange, Dulse Sauerkraut & Toasted Sourdough await. As the name implies, Dublin’s historic Four Courts are just a gavel’s throw away.
Best Dish: Wild Wicklow Rabbit Croquettes with Celeriac, Bacon, Tarragon & Mustard Ailoli & Potato Terrine – €24
