Few places inspire as much devotion as this defiantly olde worlde space on the top tier of Cork’s equally beloved indoor market, which featured prominently in the Young Offenders TV series. Wherever possible ingredients are sourced from fellow traders, and include Tripe & Onions with Drisheen, a centuries’ old Leeside dish which is hard to find elsewhere. Open Monday through Saturday from 8.30am-5pm, it’s a great place for people watching and has a top notch wine and coffee selection. There’s now a second outlet in Coolbawn, Midleton.
Best Dish: Pork Sausages with Mash, Lentils & Bacon – €12.50
