Deriving its name from a traditional 19th century baking pot, Bastible is all about seasonality and sourcing top quality local ingredients like Dooncastle oysters and Carrigbyrne Humming Bark cheese. Start with one of their €4.50 pre-dinner snacks – the Salsify & Ham Fritters with Herb Mayonnaise are especially nibblesome – and then move on to such imaginative combinations as Smoked Beetroot with Fivemiletown Cheese & Walnut Pesto and the Baked Swede with Heggarty’s Cheddar & Pickled Walnut.
