Starsky & Hutch actor David Soul passes away aged 80
The late actor was also an accomplished singer, having had no.1 hits in the US and the UK.
British-American actor and singer David Soul, who was best known for playing Detective Kenneth "Hutch" Hutchinson in the 1970s' television series Starsky & Hutch, has passed away aged 80.
“David Soul - beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother – died yesterday after a valiant battle for life in the loving company of family,” said his wife Helen Snell in a statement.
"He shared many extraordinary gifts in the world as actor, singer, storyteller, creative artist and dear friend.
"His smile, laughter and passion for life will be remembered by the many whose lives he has touched."

Soul starred alongside Paul Michael Glaser in the popular ‘70s show, with the duo reprising their roles in the 2004 movie remake Starsky & Hutch, which starred Ben Stiller as Starsky and Owen Wilson as Hutch.
As a musician, he enjoyed a successful career with tracks like ‘Don’t Give Up on Us, which topped charts in the U.S and the U.K in 1976, and ‘Silver Lady’, which topped the U.K charts the following year.
