Tipperary Farmer Tipped To Win Big Brother
An "eccentric farmer from Clonmel" is being tipped by the bookies to win the last ever season of the UK's Big Brother.
Tipperary native Cian Carrigan is the bookies joint favourite, along with Barnsley housemate Sian Hamshaw, at 9/2 odds. The next closest contestants in the betting stakes are Akeem Griffiths and cleaner Tomasz Wania, both at 8/1.
Apart from being a farmer, Cian also just happens to be gay which is giving UK tabloids like The Sun the opportunity to go with headlines such as Gay Tipperary Farmer Revealed As Favourite To Win Last Ever Season Of Big Brother.
“This is the last ever series on Big Brother so the winner will go down in history and we are already seeing strong support for two housemates, Sian and Cian who are joint 9/2 favourites," says Aoife Heffron from BoyleSports.
“Cian is an eccentric farmer from Clonmel, Tipperary so he has the patriotic punters on his side, but from the small glimpses we have seen of the computer gaming rep he is sure to go down a treat with the public so we are keen to keep him on our side.”
Before the show kicked off, Cian said he'd bring "a little bit of rural Ireland maybe" with him into the Big Brother House.
He added, "I’ll probably just bring my own personality; I don’t know what it is – I couldn’t pinpoint my exact personality.
“Hopefully I’ll bring some fun and a good ear to listen. Getting involved, being a team player, creating a family atmosphere the best that I can. I do sometimes talk to myself a little bit and just randomly say words out loud. Sharing a room with lots of other people won’t bother me at all. It’ll feel really cosy.”
