BBC shares first look for Sally Rooney's Conversations With Friends
Adapted from Sally Rooney's debut novel, the series stars newcomer Alison Oliver as Frances and Joe Alwyn as Nick.
The BBC shared a first look at some of its forthcoming drama series for 2022, including the adaptation of Sally Rooney’s Conversations With Friends.
The BBC shared a first look at Cork actress Alison Oliver as Frances, who will star opposite Joe Alwyn as Nick in the adaptation of Rooney's novel, directed by Normal People's Lenny Abrahamson and His Dark Materials’ Leanne Welham.
The series follows the 21-year-old Frances, a college student who faces her vulnerabilities as she navigates a series of relationships.. American Honey star Sasha Lane will play her best friend Bobbi, while Girls actress Jemima Kirke will play Melissa, an older writer who becomes fascinated by the pair.
Filming took place this year in Dublin, Belfast and other international locations. While no air date has been confirmed, the series is expected to air on BBC, RTÉ and Hulu in 2022.
