Wolf Alice release dreamy new EP Blue Lullaby
Taking some of their more emotional songs from Mercury Prize-nominated 2021 album Blue Weekend, Wolf Alice have turned them into lullabies for a new EP.
English alternative-rock band Wolf Alice released a five song EP yesterday. The songs are all new versions of tracks from their 2021 album Blue Weekend.
Their new EP, titled Blue Lullaby, seeks to explore the emotional power of these songs in a different genre and style from their original work. The sister album has a definite airy, lilting quality that emphasises the lyricism of the songs.
Led by singer Ellie Rowsell, the band formed in 2010. Joff Oddie, Theo Ellis, and Joel Amey make up the rest of the band though Ryan Malcolm is currently touring with them as well.
Right now, they're playing at the Glastonbury Festival in England after a frantic encounter with delayed flights. The London band will start their tour for the Blue Weekend album this Sunday after the festival by playing with Harry Styles in Germany. The tour will take them through Europe and across the US through November 2022.
Wolf Alice will be bringing their dreamy, indie-pop sound to Dublin this August 29th and 30th at 3Olympia Theatre. The original gig was rescheduled due to Covid.
