Save The Complex rally to be held tomorrow
The rally is set for tomorrow at 12:15 p.m.
A rally to save The Complex, Dublin is set to take place tomorrow, Wednesday, December 17, at 12:15 p.m.
Rally-goers are set to march from The Depot at The Complex to Dáil Éireann to deliver the petition started to save the venue.
Earlier this month, the cultural and arts space was given a notice to quit its premises, giving it until January 14, 2026 to vacate. A petition was then launched, aiming to get Dublin City Council, Politicians and The Arts Council to take acton to save the venue. At the time of writing it has over 15,300 signatures.
"The Complex [is] an arts space that is home to exhibitions, gigs, sober raves, storytelling events, over-the-top wrestling and even an early Fontaines D.C. show," reads the petition.
"It’s one of the last large independent event spaces we have left." "Each time a space disappears, so does a community. Dublin doesn’t just have a housing crisis it also has a culture crisis."
Last week Praxis: The Artists’ Union of Ireland released a statement regarding the "closure of vital Dublin art spaces".
They said that it will “greatly affect the well being, ability to work and livelihoods of numerous artists and arts workers. It will also increase pressure on the already limited public resources available to independent and unassociated artists. Yet again, our political class is siding with profit over people."
