Set in a convent on Dublin’s Sheriff Street, Philo is described as a poignant and hilarious tale about two women from very different backgrounds. Philo is dyed in the wool inner city with a big personality and a big mouth to match.
Sister Rosaleen is a young woman who has embraced the religious life in the wake of a failed relationship. On the face of it, they seem like polar opposites. But they are both carrying secrets and running from the past. In the face of adversity, their spirits shine through and bring the drama to a heart-warming and unexpected resolution.
Tickets for Philo at the Gaiety Theatre sell from €21.50 here.
