Californian composer Pauline Anna Strom has passed away, after recently announcing her first record in three decades. She was 74 years of age, and the album is due for release in February 2021.
Born blind in the Southern United States in 1946 and raised Catholic and on classical music, Strom moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and started recording with a Tascam four-track and synthesisers.
She fell in love with electronic music there, and said that she felt electronics "expanded the ability to create with your imagination."

Strom's debut album Trans-Millenia Consort was released in 1982. She continued to release music throughout the 80s, sometimes using her debut album's title as a pseudonym. In 2017, her record label RVNG Intl. issued an anthology of her work called Trans-Millenia Music. The label will release her new album Angel Tears in Sunlight on February 19, 2021.
