Netflix to Team Up With Z Nation Creators for New Zombie Series
Z Nation co-creator Karl Schaefer and director John Hyams will bring new series Black Summer to Netflix.
The show will focus on a mother, torn from her daughter embarking upon a harrowing journey, stopping at nothing to find her, according to a statement from Netflix.
Thrust alongside a small group of American refugees, she must brave a hostile new world and make brutal decisions during the deadliest summer of a zombie apocalypse.
Jaime King who starred in Sin City and its sequel Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For will play the lead in the eight-part series.
Z Nation has run for four seasons on Syfy, earning acclaim for its more irreverent take on the zombie apocalypse in comparison to the serious The Walking Dead. Musician Henry Rollins starred in the fourth season.
Produced by production company The Asylum. Schaefer and Hyams will serve as co-showrunners on Black Summer
