Lyons: Proud to be rooted in tradition, committed to quality, and honoured to be named Best Chipper in Ireland
Lyons is bringing 30+ years of chip shop pride to Dungarvan.
When TJ and Maura Lyons opened the doors of their chipper on Queen Street, Clonmel in 1991, they set out to do one thing: serve proper, honest food to their local community.
Fast forward to today — still proudly Irish-owned and family-run and in the hands of the next generation — Lyons is evolving while staying true to its roots.
No frozen shortcuts. Just Irish potatoes from the Blackwater Valley. Fresh Kilmore Quay haddock. Tender Irish chicken prepared fresh. And juicy Irish beef burgers, freshly made and sourced locally from Walsh’s Gourmet Butcher right here in Clonmel – all cooked to order.
They’ve expanded to Cashel Road and, most recently, opened a third location in Dungarvan — perfect for a seaside chip after a dip in the ocean or a cycle on the Greenway.
Their menu blends modern favourites with chipper classics — all made fresh, with real Irish ingredients and our trademark flavour.
They’ve modernised too: online ordering, in-store kiosks, a sleek new app, and loyalty points for regulars.
Proud to be rooted in tradition, committed to quality, and honoured to be named Best Chipper in Ireland at the 2024 Just Eat Awards.
